New Steel Roofs & Repairs
Do your roofing quotes include taking off the current shingles?
The answer to this question is dependent on which kind of new roof you are having installed. Please call the office to discuss.
How do I know if I need a new roof?
If your shingles are curling or you are finding pieces of shingle on the ground we recommend replacing your roof at this time. When curling and breaking of the shingles begins, there is a risk of leaking and deterioration of the roof substrate. This can be confirmed with an inspection.
How much will a new roof cost?
The cost of a new roof is dependent on a number of factors not limited to the following: the size of the roof, the number of valleys and trim requirements, the height of the house, the number of different levels of the roof, and number of dormers.
Why does one side of my roof wear faster than the other?
Generally, weather has the biggest impact on your roof ‘wear and tear’. For example, if your house has a north face and a south face, the south one will tend to wear from the heat of the sun and the north will tend to curl and lift from the north wind. South facing sides are usually more deteriorated on homes.
Is a steel roof or asphalt shingle roof a better option for me?
We specialize in steel roof installation and repair. Your decision about a roof will depend on the financial commitment you are prepared to make. A shingle roof will cost less now but will need to be replaced if you stay in your home for a long time. Asphalt shingles are not as environmentally friendly as steel roofs. A steel roof will last a lifetime and is maintenance free.
What are the benefits of a steel roof compared to asphalt?
Steel roofs are long lasting and environmentally friendly. The Stoll Metal Steel that we use has a 40 year warranty on the paint.
Do steel roofs come in different colours or am I limited in what colour I can choose?
Steel roofs come in a number of colours.
Is there a solution to snow falling off my roof as it melts to ensure there are no injuries to humans?
Our steel roofs are installed with snowguard as a standard feature. Some people choose to put snow blocks on their roof instead of the snowguard. You choose what you prefer.
Do you fix leaking barn roofs?
We assess these specific jobs on an individual basis. Typically, a leaking barn roof indicates old material. In these cases, we may be able to fix some minor leaks. Keep in mind, compromised structures may become further damaged if we go on the roof to repair a leak instead of replace the roof. We have successfully repaired leaking barn roofs however cannot make any verbal guarantees because an inspection is required.
New Builds
Do you do new builds?
Currently, we are booking new build projects for: garages, workshops, barns and sheds. Should you already have the building but you are looking to add-on for instance, we can arrange a quote for any additions you may require to these structures.
Siding
Would you recommend vinyl or aluminum siding on a structure?
We recommend Kaycan Vinyl Siding. Kaycan has different styles of siding with many colours. In addition, they are a Canadian company and provide a quality product.
Barn Removal and/or Relocation
I have a barn that has become dangerous, do you do barn removal?
We are set up to remove your barn quickly and professionally. Give us a call and we will provide a quote for removing your barn.
